The Position

Revive is seeking a strong Vice President of Project Management to lead our team of project managers. Have you mastered the agency process? The Responsibilities

Includes, but not limited to the following:

  • Manage, mentor and progress the project management team, overseeing their work and performance in an in-person as well as remote environment
  • Constantly and consistently identify, implement and socialize the most effective processes, tools and systems to keep the department current with project management processes
  • Collaborate with department heads and agency leadership to create achievable and measurable project plans that include regular status reporting
  • Identify areas of improvement in project management and work to improve them
  • Oversee execution, workflow and resourcing of projects
  • Lead and develop comprehensive resource models and risk mitigation plans in collaboration with agency leadership and discipline leads
  • Actively manage and build rapport with executive clients
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to foster cross-training to help build a strong foundation for the team
  • Serve as program manager for high-visibility project

Success Looks Like

  • You attended the daily check-in and have a good grasp of what the team’s key priorities are for their accounts and the work moving through the agency
  • You led and facilitated an engaging department meeting with your team and addressed exactly what they needed to feel supported in their projects
  • You sent a shout-out to a team that overcame some significant obstacles and delivered for a client
  • You met with one of the account teams about a time recording issue, which is impacting the account’s project burn and agency’s revenue potential
  • You met with Finance to review client health and billing – proactively identifying some issues that needed to be ironed out.
  • You had lunch with someone on the team and mentored them on the development of their skill set
  • You attended the all staff presentation on our strategy and asked some really astute questions that helped us translate how it affects project management
  • You collaborated with the client experience and resourcing leads on account staffing on and made informed decisions about PM staffing for a new client, taking into context the team’s capacity, skillsets and match with the account lead.
  • You met with a senior project manager and listened to their challenges in navigating a direct report’s lack of accountability, helping her formulate on her own the best course of action.
  • You brought some new thinking and process recommendations to increase visibility and operational efficiency to the primary stakeholders who interact with the agency’s project management tools

The Essentials

  • 10+ years of experience in project management at an ad agency, design firm and/or marketing-related firm
  • Proven success as a project management leader within an advertising agency environment
  • Extensive and effective experience in handling diverse creative projects and collaborating with large scale agency and client teams
  • Experience working across multiple forms of media to include print, video, POS, experience design, web content, mobile and social
  • Possess an in depth understanding of project management, workflow, infrastructure, project life cycles and management methodologies and styles.
  • Expert knowledge of project management tools such as Asana, Mavenlink, Excel, Worksome, Adobe, Ziflow, etc.
  • Accomplished and proven history of managing small to large size programs and departments
  • Ability to build relationships with clients at an executive level
  • Ability to see the big picture while also focusing on the details
  • Excellent people and relationship-building skills, ability to function as both a member and leader of the team, and the ability to develop a strong and trustworthy relationship with all internal and external teammates
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, and ability to maintain a balanced and positive attitude in stressful situations
  • A sense of humor and a penchant for making work fun

The Position

The essence of any strategic role at Revive is to solve our clients’ business problems by developing breakthrough strategies (often by using compelling insight-driven research) and focusing the output of agency in a way that leverages its creativity and expertise to produce a positive and measurable impact.

All of the strategic roles are in service of this, and the different levels of seniority within the department reflect differences in things such as: experience and time in the job, technical ability, management and mentoring skills, developing a specific expertise within the discipline and a broader contribution to the Revive vision, values and business performance.

We want good eggs in the department. We don’t like bad apples. We want givers not takers. We want enthusiasm, open mindedness and thought leadership (we should be one the engine rooms of thought for the agency). We shouldn’t be scared of calculated risks or changes; in fact we should actively seek them out. We are champions and ambassadors for our craft. We are interesting and interested. We want people to want to hang out with us!

How might this show up in this role? The Senior Strategist should be able to take the ball and run with it, generating inputs and insights that can and will lead to great strategy and creative solutions. They will bring the team, the clients, along with them on the strategic journey. Most importantly, they understand that this is a team sport, and know when they need the support of others to do the job great.

Someone who has the right balance of both the technical skills that it takes to be a great Senior Strategist but also the human skills will exceed in this role and expand their skills and expertise along the way.

Direct experience of working in healthcare, or a strong desire to work in healthcare and willingness to work hard at understanding the industry.

  • Experience and success in showing up strongly with clients with an ability to be persuasive – both written and in spoken word – as you carry them along through a strategic project.
  • Foundationally able to build a client relationship where you sever as a trusted advisor
  • Enthusiastic about Revive business growth thorough partnership with our Growth team on new business ventures, and when asked, happy to be part of a team that pitches new business.
  • Ambassador of the strategy department both internally and externally with an understanding of how your role drives the agency forward from a strategic perspective

The Essentials

  • Ability to travel for client work/strategy as needed
  • 6 + years full time employment, at least 2-3 years in a strategy, or strategy related, role.
  • Hunger for growth and learning in the strategy, creative, and healthcare space
  • Ability to lead/drive projects and get “buy-in” from agency team
